穗SUI-Bell shaped hanging rings with dragon pattern
穗SUI is the collection of our rings with hanging decorations. This open-ended silver ring is handmade by the artisan Shi from Kaili, Guizhou. Its main body has embossed dragon playing a pearl. The dragon is an important symbol of good luck, longevity and prosperity to Miao people, it also closely links to Dragon Boat Festival in the region. The pattern of this ring has almost disappeared entirely in the region, we found it back and reintroduced it to our rings by the hard work of skillful artisan.
Technique: Chisel engraving is widely used in this piece. The process includes casting, beating, stencil welding and washing.It takes 6 hours to finish.
Material: Fine silver (s999)- 2g.
*Fine silver has a millesimal fineness of 999. Also called pure silver, it is less and less used in jewellery making due to its soft feature that increases the difficulty in the making process. However, to respect the tradition in the region, artisans insist to use fine silver to create high-qualified pieces with exquisite technique.
